Statele Unite aprobă pentru prima dată un vaccin împotriva bronşiolitei la adulţi

Statele Unite ale Americii au aprobat miercuri, pentru prima dată, un vaccin împotriva virusului respirator sinciţial (VRS), care provoacă bronşiolita, pentru adulţii cu vârsta de 60 de ani şi peste, au anunţat autorităţile sanitare, relatează AFP și Agerpres.

Această autorizare a vaccinului Arexvy, produs de gigantul farmaceutic britanic GSK, „este un succes important în ceea ce priveşte sănătatea publică pentru a preveni o boala care poate fi fatală”, a a afirmat, potrivit unui comunicat, Peter Marks, responsabil în cadrul Agenţiei pentru Alimentaţie şi Medicamente (FDA).
